About bb.q Chicken Union

The bb.q in our name stands for "Best of the Best Quality", and that's exactly what you can expect from every one of our restaurants. Our Korean fried chicken🍗 is crispier, juicier, and more tender than anything you've tasted before, and our sauces provide an eclectic mix of flavor. Every dish is the result of both longstanding Korean tradition and modern research and development from our very own Chicken University. It's a tremendous amount of work, but it's all worth it when you take that first bite.

bb.q Chicken Union is a korean restaurant in Union, New Jersey. It is listed at 946 Stuyvesant Ave. #4 Union, NJ 07083, which places it among the local businesses of Union that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as chicken restaurant, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

This group covers Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian and other Asian cuisines that are not Chinese, and the etiquette varies by kitchen. Japanese and Korean restaurants often take reservations for dinner and may add a service charge for large groups; Thai and Vietnamese spots are usually walk-in and quick-turnover. Spice levels are frequently adjustable on request at Thai, Indian and Sichuan-adjacent menus, so say if you want it mild or hot. Korean BBQ restaurants typically charge per person for all-you-can-eat service with a time limit, and grills are shared at the table. Vietnamese pho shops post bowl sizes (regular or large) and a plate of herbs, bean sprouts and lime is normal to add yourself. Card and tap-to-pay are widely accepted; cash-only is more common at small family-run counters.

The business lists hours on 6 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 11 am–8:40 pm. Note that it does not open on Monday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. Union is in New Jersey, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Union follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

We always go to BBQ CHICKEN in Union because the quality of food is excellent. We went there one time thinking they’re open til 9:30 as it says on Google but the truth was it’s only till 8:30pm but the person at the front & chefs at the back was really nice cause they still catered to us and accepted our dine-in orders and just waited for us to finish. It’s rare these days to find people like them and I can highly recommend their spot! Their chicken is to absolute perfection!!! Try the tteokbokki and sweet potato fries as well. You won’t be disappointed. Thank you so much for the kindness, accommodations and for the excellent chickens and other foods you serve. Keep up the good work!

Annoyed that my Filipino place across the street was closed when it wasn't supposed to be, I came here instead. I got the spicy calby chicken, kimchi fried rice, and a peach lychee drink. That fried rice was everything ! ! I don't typically like sauce on my chicken too much, but this chicken was perfectly fried and the sauce definitely added something special. Can't wait to stop by again ! !

Been meaning to stop by since they opened and Im happy the wait was worth it. At first glance you'd think the chicken is heavy because the crust is thicker than most Korean Fried chicken I've had. It is still light and crispy (although it steamed in the bag after 45 minutes in traffic). I agree with other comments of the sauces being sweet but they are good. Oh and the wings of fire are not for ppl with high blood pressure. Lol. I also had the chicken fried rice and appreciate the fact that they used chicken thighs and not breast. It is so good and not greasy at all! Ill be back soon to try other flavors and dishes.

The growing popularity of Korean fried chicken reflects a greater familiarity with Korean culture. Celebrated for its crispy exterior and tender interior, Korean fried chicken has been a staple late-night snack in South Korea since the late 1970s and early ’80s. It’s typically known as “drinking food,” or anju, though Koreans also enjoy the crispy pieces of meat with non-alcoholic drinks. The dish is most often made with bone-in chicken thighs or wings that have been coated in a cornstarch mixture. Traditionally, the chicken is fried twice to take it to the next level of crunchiness. Located on a busy Stuyvesant Avenue in Union, I decided on bb.q Chicken for lunch. The acronym “bb.q” in their name stands for “Best of the Best Quality,” focusing on high-quality ingredients. Upon arrival as a first-timer at this modern, well-lit, clean establishment with Korean music playing throughout, I was greeted by the staff. Their menu features fried chicken, rice bowls, and Ddeok-Bokki. I decided on the Honey Garlic Wings brushed in a savory sauce with a mild tang of garlic and Chicken Fried Rice with vegetables in a classic kimchi base. The wings were prepared fresh (~20 mins prep time)

So glad they opened up a bb.q here. Owner is great we went before they even opened the restaurant to the public and let us try their offerings. Extremely delicious juicy flavorful. Can’t wait to try the other flavors they have. This time, we just had the cheese version. Soy garlic and hot spicy. I asked if they’ll offer the cheese wrapping chicken they have in the Asian market. he said he’ll bring it up with corporate. Oh and also just fyi they only offer 2 flavor choices on the medium wings. Hopefully soon they allow us to get different flavors on large wings. The restaurant was super clean and looks great. Parking can be an issue so just be aware. Oh and order ahead so it’ll be ready with you want to eat there or for pickup .
